16 Nov 2011 in National Assembly:
On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. Is it in order for the Assistant Minister for Education to hide behind registration in order for him to post teachers when in this country you cannot register a school that does not exist? The school must be established first for it to be registered. In the first place, a school is one that has ten or more pupils or students under instruction. For a school to be registered, it has to, first all, get a licence to operate. It then takes another two years for it to be given ...

28 Jul 2011 in National Assembly:
Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, issues of education are too dear to me and I want, first of all, to think that the answer that was given by the Assistant Minister was insufficient. As you know, anything injurious to the teaching profession in this country should be resisted by all means. Now that the Assistant Minister has talked about employing those teachers once he gets the monies that he needs--- Those teachers have been discriminated against because they are qualified people - they are P1 teachers like others. When we later employ on permanent basis, will we also backdate what should ...

27 Jul 2011 in National Assembly:
Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I was almost getting worried that you were marginalizing me in the House. First of all, I would like to commend the Prime Minister for his eloquent response. I want to agree that the Government has not taken quick measures to avert this crisis that we are facing. I would like to observe that when the Minister for Medical Services was speaking here today, he mentioned under-funding ...

13 Apr 2011 in National Assembly:
Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, since circumcision is an important rite of passage in terms of our youth and some communities cannot do it at infancy because it goes with education and is done at a certain age, is there any way the Assistant Minister can do capacity building in those who perform the circumcision operations? Circumcision goes with education and is undertaken at a given age.

24 Mar 2011 in National Assembly:
Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, as we look at the issues of the KKV Programme, we realise that it is very true that the application of this money has not been felt in the constituencies. I want to find out from the Assistant Minister whether it is possible for them to organize the programme such that when money is disbursed to the constituencies, Members of Parliament are also informed since we are the true representatives of the people. Could you also furnish me with information? In Shinyalu, which is my constituency, the youths are in---

Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I was saying that the youth in Shinyalu Constituency have not received this money, and they are really up in arms. Could you, please, furnish me with information on how much money was sent to Shinyalu Constituency and how we are going to benefit from this programme?
