Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I also want to echo the sentiments of my colleague because it is now becoming a bit tricky to operate either in this House or at the constituency level. The people we employed to assist us in the constituencies are really suffering. These people are even going to an extent of borrowing money because they have not been paid by PSC. We had a lot of faith in our PSC when they took their positions using whichever means they used to assume the positions. These commissioners do not come to us to explain some of ...

Yes, Hon. Speaker. I would also like to thank the Committee, which I am a Member, for this Petition. I want to note that this Petition was brought directly to this House by members of the community. If this community had consulted their Member of Parliament, who is in this House and has contributed to this Petition, maybe it could have been directed better on how to handle this Petition. This is because you can see that the issues that the community wanted addressed have not been addressed. I want to observe that sometimes we handle petitions, and in the ...

Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman. I would like to support the proposed amendment by the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs. Deleting those words makes the Co-operative Societies Act clearer.

Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I have really followed the Hon. Member keenly but there is a word I am not getting. I do not know what he is referring to. So, maybe he can avoid using that word.

Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to give my input to this Bill. The concerns raised by my colleagues are valid. This is an opportunity for the ruling coalition and the minority side to sit down with various stakeholders in the election process. That is because the issue of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is being discussed even out of this House. Our colleagues in the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) are discussing how the IEBC can be reformed before the next elections. So, as we discuss this Bill, we should not ...

primary and secondary schools. We will be traversing the constituencies looking for votes and that will be disruptive to many things. This will be my second election and I know what happened last time. If we have the ‘election’ mode in August--- My colleague is trying to interrupt me! I do not think I am going the route he was going when he was contributing.

Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, let me use the term “voting date”. I also have a problem with that word. There are a lot of activities during the campaign period. We need to change the voting date to December. We also have the seventh wonder of the world, the migration of wildebeest from Serengeti National Park in Tanzania to Maasai Mara National Park in Kenya. That is during their breeding. Most of the people do not know why the migration takes place. The migration takes place because the animals go to breed in Serengeti. That is the right time for tourists ...

Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I also want to echo the sentiments of my colleagues. Many Kenyans are out there in foreign jails. This is a good opportunity for them to come back home. In some of the countries, Kenyans are suffering in detention, especially in South Sudan. I remember just the other day many Kenyans were detained in undisclosed areas in our neighbouring country, South Sudan. So, as we support Kenyans who are serving jail terms to come back, we should also consider intervening in areas where Kenyans are detained in un disclosed areas for investigations for months ...
