  • 1 Oct 2015 in Senate: Not really, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. As my colleague, Sen. Ong’era has mentioned, at least, they could come with something. Not just to say that it s is not ready. It means they have not even communicated with the relevant Ministry. Reluctantly, I would ask the Chair to take this matter seriously and we expect a very substantive and elaborate answer on this. • 29 Sep 2015 in Senate: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I take this opportunity to support the petitioner. We are lacking civic education in this country. It has never been done properly to the citizens of this country. Statistics show that about 40 per cent of the registered voters never turn up to vote. If the petitioner was to say that we look for a way of meting penalties, it is a choice in a democracy for people to exercise their right not to vote. In essence, from national Government or county governments, we need to effectively do a lot of civic education to our people ... view
  • 24 Sep 2015 in Senate: On a point of order Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir. Although you had ruled on the issue of the first respondent on the question you had raised, did you hear the representative of the Chair say that every Government official is in New York? Does it mean business does not operate when Government officials have left the country? view
