  • 3 Dec 2008 in National Assembly: Asante, Bw. Spika.
  • 3 Dec 2008 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, I am lost. Could the Assistant Minister tell us what is the policy of the Government on matters of business? We have seen the Government getting away from the Safaricom Limited and saying that it has to concentrate more on regulations rather than doing business. What was the need of the Government to get involved in the KCC in the first place? view
  • 3 Dec 2008 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I think that the Government must take the business of this House very seriously. It should give concrete reasons why it wants the business of the House deferred. The Assistant Minister is asking for two weeks to get a concrete answer, yet this is an issue of 2006. Do you think that he needs to give us a better country. It should therefore be given the required attention. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, there are so many things that have not been going right in this Ministry and I am happy this ... view
  • 13 Nov 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, we are talking about a Kenyan who is now representing herself because she says that the office of the Attorney-General has delayed her payment far too long. The Attorney-General, himself, is on record as saying that he is putting pressure on the Permanent Secretary to pay Ms. Mumo. We appreciate that he is putting pressure for this payment to be made. Could he tell us when the cheque will be paid and what kind of pressure is this that he is putting on the Permanent Secretary? We want a duration of time because a Kenyan is ... view
  • 13 Nov 2008 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. The Question the Minister is answering was, I believe, asked and he brought an answer here. I thought that, according to our Standing Orders, a Question cannot come here again if six months are not over. Could you give direction on that? view
  • 11 Nov 2008 in National Assembly: , asked the Minister for Nairobi Metropolitan Development:- (a) what plans the Ministry has to make Nairobi a 24-hour economy; and, (b) what other measures he is taking to make Nairobi more attractive for business. view
  • 5 Nov 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Assistant Minister has given a figure of Kshs38 billion as the money which is being held by the financial institutions. In most cases, the figures which are given exclude the monies held by the Deposits Protection Fund (DPF). Could he confirm to this House that the figure he has given includes the money which is held by the DPF? If so, how much is held by the DPF? This is part of depositors' money. view
  • 5 Nov 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Minister is talking of a proposal to acquire land, but that is not enough. Many accidents have occured at that spot and the Minister has acknowledged that it is a black spot. We want to know when the feasibility studies will be done; when the work will commence and how much it will cost. view
  • 5 Nov 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I am getting disturbed by the way we are doing business in this House. You stood up and ruled that the next Order be read out. The Clerk-at-the- Table did so. We have flauted our own rules and gone back to discuss Ministerial Statements. view
