  • 16 Apr 2008 in National Assembly: Thank you Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker. You have heard the unsatisfactory answer the Minister has brought to the House when the nation is bleeding; when young Kenyans are being killed everyday in the guise of Mungiki. Just recently, an innocent lady with her driver was burnt along Lang'ata Road. The Minister has not told us about the young people who have been demonstrating in Nairobi asking why that lady was killed and what the police have found out. This has caused a spiral effect and that is why Kenyans are unable to go to work and buses are being burnt. ... view

  • 16 Apr 2008 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, that is exactly what I am doing. You will realise that I am a young man and those who are being killed are young people. I have not seen April 16, 2008 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES 491 an old man called Mungiki! Could this Government of old people negotiate with these young people to get to know the cause of this menace? Is it unemployment or what is causing this problem? This problem is affecting Kenyans of all walks of life. view
  • 15 Apr 2008 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I rise on a point of order to request for a Ministerial Statement from the Minister of State for Provincial Administration and Internal Security in the Office of the President, regarding the Mungiki menace. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, Kenyans were just about to experience a sigh of relief after the formation of the Grand Coalition Government. That is because business, from the beginning of the year, was disrupted by other things. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, right now, Kenyans are not going to work in about five major towns, plus the Metropolitan City of this ... view
  • 25 Mar 2008 in National Assembly: Jambo la nidhamu, Bw. Naibu Spika.
  • 25 Mar 2008 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir for giving me this opportunity to contribute to the Presidential Address. First, I would like to thank the Almighty God who, indeed, has made it possible for me to be part of this Tenth Parliament. On the same token, allow me to thank the people of Mutito Constituency who saw it fit for me to have a second term to serve them. They showed confidence in the service I was giving them and allowed me to continue for another five more years and make a difference in the constituency in lieu of service to ... view
  • 25 Mar 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I am surprised when I meet some of my colleagues who tell me that in their one constituency, they have two districts! So, he does not know which District Development Committee (DDC) to attend! Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I think that a majority of all great nations rise from the ashes. There is America with the American Civil War. The Europeans with their wars-- Maybe, what we went through, as much as we would not have liked it to happen to us, has been an awakening call to make Kenya the hub of business, political realizations ... view
  • 18 Mar 2008 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Clearly, looking at the mood of the House and, particularly, the fact that the two Principal Deputies have supported this Bill, and given that we are waiting for His Excellency the President to come so that he can be given room to assent to this Bill, would I be in order to request you to call upon the Mover to reply? view

  • 15 Aug 2007 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. Is it in order for the Minister to mislead this House that there are constitutional review talks going on while we know, for a fact, that the Government has killed that constitutional review? view
