  • 25 Nov 2014 in Senate: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, I do not know whether I am in order to say that there is a Member of the “Lower House” who is stranded in the Speaker’s Gallery. Would it not be in order to introduce him and recognize him? view
  • 25 Nov 2014 in Senate: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir. Is it in order for the Senate Minority Leader to try to contradict national statistics from a credible public officer? When Americans killed Osama Bin Laden, President Obama announced that they killed him and have buried him in the sea, but they never showed us pictures, but their people believed. Is the Senate Minority Leader, being a senior leader I this country, in order to mislead the public? view
  • 25 Nov 2014 in Senate: Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, the security situation in our country is wanting. The Kenyan people everywhere I go, whether it is in social places, in the streets, on my Twitter and Facebook accounts, are tired. • 20 Nov 2014 in Senate: Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, first, I would like to congratulate the petitioner. One of the greatest benefits of the new Constitution is that the public have an opportunity to participate in law making and petitioning Parliament directly as a right under Article 119. It says that our responsibility, and it is the first ... view
  • 20 Nov 2014 in Senate: I am almost concluding, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir. I am just saying that we know that the County Assembly Service Board is so lean that sometimes it is the Speaker, Majority and Minority leaders and one other person from outside. Sometimes that small component is subject to a lot of pressure and manipulation unlike the County Public Service Board (CPSB) that has outsiders appointed, as many as possible, who can look at the interests of the people. Therefore, the other step going further is for that Committee to recommend to us whether we need to change the structure of management ... view
  • 20 Nov 2014 in Senate: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir. I would rather you rule the Member out of the order because the Committee has not tabled the report in this House. The Committee is scheduled to meet the Member and other legislators from Isiolo County. I would rather we do not use the issue of Isiolo in detail. view
  • 20 Nov 2014 in Senate: Thank You, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, --- view
  • 20 Nov 2014 in Senate: Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, first of all, time has not lapsed yet when it comes to the two committees in terms of the 60 days; it is not yet 60 days since we were given that responsibility on the Floor of the House. Most importantly, the Committee decided in consultation with the Speaker that we could not proceed with the Makueni case because of what was decided in this House. Once they decided to go to court, it was impossible to canvass the issues without interfering with the court decision. Under the Standing Orders and the law, we could not ... view
