  • 28 Jun 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I would like to know whether this body will continue to serve Nandi and Kipsigis districts or whether the Government will consider establishing a separate regional body to take care of the interests of the Kipsigis and Nandi communities. view
  • 28 Jun 2006 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, for giving me this opportunity. I would like to thank the Government for implementing phase four of the teachers' salary increment, which has been delayed for over ten years. While thanking the Government for implementing the agreement, I would like to say that the delay has rendered the implementation almost useless because the standards of living have really gone up in the last ten years. I want to urge the Government to initiate another agreement between the Teachers Service Commission with a view to having teachers' salaries increased. We all know that teachers ... view
  • 28 Jun 2006 in National Assembly: Thank you very much for that information. Finally, I want to thank this Government for the democratic space, of course, it is comparative to the former regime, that we are enjoying at the moment. In the days of KANU in power, some of us suffered a lot. So, this Government deserves a pat on the back for the wide democratic space, but they have to be careful. When you are praised, you are bound to make mistakes, but not necessarily. This Government has also brought sanity to the Provincial Administration. It was so surprising that the District Commissioners (DCs), DOs ... view

  • 7 Jun 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I would like to thank the Assistant Minister for accepting that there is an anomaly on this road. The issue at hand is not about the guard rails or the gravelling of the road but it is about the design. It is too steep such that even a four-wheel-drive vehicle cannot climb the hill. Could the Assistant Minister confirm to us that he is going to re-design the road so that it is passable because even if it is gravelled, it is impassable because it is too steep? view
  • 7 Jun 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Assistant Minister will agree with me that it serves no purpose for the Government to spend Kshs400 million of public funds on a project of this kind and, at the end of the day, does not benefit my people. Could the Assistant Minister undertake to re-design the road so that the people of Mogotio Constituency benefit from it? view
  • 7 Jun 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I am not very sure, but it is about Kshs400 million. Maybe the Assistant Minister could confirm it? view
  • 19 Apr 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, could the Assistant Minister confirm whether the machines they have received have been dispatched to their respective stations? If not, when will he dispatch them? Will these machines be under the DWO or the PWO? view
