Having benefitted from the Senate Mashinani sittings, I would say that it is a very important session for the Senate. The Senate Mashinani has built capacity in our counties, particularly on devolved functions. On the aspect of accountability, it affords the Senate Public Accounts Committee (PAC) the opportunity to interrogate the books of accounts and also put the Governor to task. I would wish many counties get an opportunity to host the Senate Mashinani and benefit from the experience. Turkana is a special county. It is the cradle of mankind. As we are aware, the county holds an annual festival known as Tobong’u Lore. I hope it shall coincide with the Senate Mashinani so that we can also explore the tourism potential of those counties.
