  • 1 Oct 2015 in Senate: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I will be ready on Tuesday. view
  • 29 Sep 2015 in Senate: Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, I thank you for recognizing me to speak. First, allow me to thank my friend and neighbour Sen. (Prof.) Lesan, for introducing this important and timely Bill to this august House. For a long time, this country has focused itself on the rights of women and children and forgotten their source; the rights of the aged. I am happy because for the first time in the history of this country, the Constitution of Kenya 2010 now recognizes the rights of the aged as fundamental human rights. We might quarrel about definitions but I have no problem ... view
  • 16 Sep 2015 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, let me not dwell on the embarrassing moment of yesterday. I beg you to forgive that man because he did not know what he was doing. view
  • 16 Sep 2015 in Senate: Those who are Christians know that the gospel according to St Luke says that those who exalt themselves will be humbled, but those who humble themselves will be exalted. You will be exalted in the eyes of the Lord. view

  • 16 Sep 2015 in Senate: Regarding the Petition by our friend Sen. (Prof.) Lonyangapuo, it will be criminal for any Senator not to support this petition. The former councilors, including the Chairman of this forum whom I know very well because he is from my county, are people whom we have struggled with against dictatorship in this country. These are people who have walked with us during the difficult days of the struggle for democratization of this country. These are people who have played a great role in the grassroots development of this country. Mr. Speaker, Sir, it is a shame that so many years ... view
  • 15 Sep 2015 in Senate: Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, as the Chairman of this Committee responds, we should know why the issue of identity cards keeps on coming up every now and then. It is not the ideas per se which cause problems but discrimination in the issuance of identity cards where some areas feel that they have not been issued with identity cards in the same spirit as in other areas. Other areas are given identity cards with speed and in bigger numbers more than in other areas for political purposes. As we go into elections, this issue will keep on coming up. I ... view
  • 30 Jul 2015 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I know that Sen. Hassan is just provoking me to speak because he knows that we are good friends. In terms of good manners and traditions, whenever I enter the Mombasa airspace, I always let him know that I am within his territory. view
  • 30 Jul 2015 in Senate: After takeoff, you can make your calls. view
  • 30 Jul 2015 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I do agree with Sen. Hassan that whenever a Committee visits any county, it should always inform the Senator for that county to be there to welcome them. It is true that our Committee made a visit to Mombasa County. Judge, Sen. Madzayo, who is a neighbour to Sen. Hassan, is a Member of our Committee. Since, I was not present in that meeting, I requested him to lead our delegation to Mombasa County. I am informed that he tried to look for you, but maybe you were so busy with Gov. Joho that they were not ... view
