  • 27 Mar 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity. I come from an agricultural area. I thank the Member for Moiben for coming up with this particular Motion on behalf of the Kenyan farmers. Agriculture is the backbone of our economy. Farmers do this country good on matters economy. I come from Narok South, Narok County and planting is ongoing in the region. I want to thank the Government for the subsidised fertilisers. That was very good for our farmers. I might not really complain on the issue of fertiliser distribution because it is well done. We have an ... view
  • 27 Mar 2018 in National Assembly: recurrent expenditure. If the Government and the agencies concerned can listen to the pleas of the farmers, we will move forward as far as farming is concerned. view
  • 29 Nov 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I rise to second the Motion. I agree with the Mover that in this given time and more so in this city and other urban cities it is indeed very important to have a service lane for emergency purposes. Congested cities encounter a lot of problems when it comes to emergencies because of jams. We can save lives and contain situations if our roads have service lanes. I also agree with the Mover that we lose a lot just because of inability of our emergency vehicles to manoeuvre to the emergency areas. Service lanes will ... view
  • 29 Nov 2017 in National Assembly: In the event that service lanes are created, as the Mover has stipulated, the most important part is to provide for penalties in the law against motorists who may abuse the same. The service lanes are for purposes of emergency. Therefore, this Motion is very important. It will be of immense importance to the people of this country. I second. view

  • 7 Nov 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for this minute. I wish I had more time. I truly want to empathise with the people affected in Laikipia. One point I want to make so that it goes on record is that there is no pastoralist in this country who can use an animal, more so a cow, as a shield. The people and the leaders from the affected areas should come together, reason and come up with a way forward. I support the Motion. view
  • 11 Oct 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker, for giving me this opportunity. I rise in support of Sessional Paper No.1 of 2017 on the National Land Use Policy. It is indeed good to start by saying that in economics, we say land is a critical resource in terms of production. • 11 Oct 2017 in National Assembly: Therefore, it is truly important to say that this policy is long overdue, as my colleagues are saying. I believe this policy will solve quite a number of fundamental issues in this country. The population of this country is increasing. During the census of 1999, the population of this country was around 33 million while in 2009, it was 38 million. The projection for 2019 is 48 million. Thus, it indeed, affects land in terms of land use and so forth. Having gone through this Sessional Paper, I realise that for some of us who come from pastoral areas, it ... view
  • 14 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker for giving me this opportunity. From the outset, let me thank God and the great people of Narok South for re-electing me overwhelmingly. I want to tell them that I will work diligently for the benefit of their welfare and for the constituency in general. Let me also congratulate you, Hon. Speaker, for being re-elected to lead us in this House. I also congratulate Hon. Deputy Speaker and all the Members of this House. Kenyans have spoken on matters election. On the President’s Speech, I was amazed by his humility. This is a President who once ... view
  • 14 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: The development and transformation in this country speaks for itself. I know, and as His Excellency said, the 10th Parliament did a commendable job as far as the Constitution is concerned. I am proud to be associated with the 11th Parliament which again, Hon. Speaker, you led. We did a commendable job of implementing the Constitution. view
