still have loans you have not paid. Teleposta SACCO invested in a building, the Teleposta Towers, which they sold at Kshs1.2 billion to be able to pay off some of the members. They entered into this contract together to put up an asset. None of them anticipated that retrenchment was on the way. When they sold the building they were able to pay on a first-come-first served kind of scenario. Out of the 14,000 members of the Teleposta SACCO, about 9,000 have been paid. What is left is 3,981 members who have not been paid from the proceeds of the ...

Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, Nandi Teachers SACCO, which I know the hon. Member was once a member before he joined BUCOSO, is a case where members did not notice the activities of the management committee on time.

Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I stand to support the coming into force of the new Constitution. However, I have a few amendments to raise. I would like to put something straight. I heard some previous speakers talk against regionalization. It is negative to think that when people ask for regions, it is because they want to balkanize this country. They have given a negative connotation to regional governments. I would like to support the view that we have 25 regions in this country. I am not supporting these regions for negative reasons as people perceive them. Let us forget ...

11 Nov 2009 in National Assembly:
I want to take this opportunity to congratulate the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Development, hon. Mathenge and her staff for coming up with this Motion. Considering the hard time that many Kenyans are going through, it is so difficult for any working class person to save for themselves, family and ageing parents. This Motion will relieve the burden on the working class who have to support their ageing parents who always fall sick. Looking at the rate of unemployment in our country, most youth get Kazi Kwa
