Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, indeed, the history of Abahengle people, the Isukha people, the Luhya people, and the history of Kenyans can never be complete without the name of Michael Kijana Wamalwa. It is for this reason that we need to emphasize the importance of this gentleman, who will always remain as an inspiration to an institution like a university. He was an intellectual in his own rights, and you will recall that his last mission abroad was to bring the whole world together; he was at an international meeting of the UN in Geneva. I support, on behalf of ...

Thank you, hon. Speaker. I rise to support this Motion. The President has done us proud. In recognition and acknowledgement of the provisions of the Constitution, he has attempted to a great extent to attain equity and fair distribution of those appointments. He has also gone for quality personnel. I would like to recognise here the appointment of Prof. Godia, especially in the UNESCO agency. Prof. Godia has made a lot of contribution to UNESCO. He has helped us to establish a lot of shares within the UNESCO circles. This is the right person having served as the Permanent Secretary ...

Thank you, hon. Speaker. I am really happy to contribute to this Motion, and especially to listen to what my colleagues have had to say, as a way of going forward after we partner with one another. Let me take this opportunity to appreciate many of my colleagues at personal level for supporting me when I went through a petition. I know many of us have gone through the same. But the support we gave to one another sustained us. I want to thank all those who said prayers for, and those who accompanied me to the High Court, Court ...

Hon. Speaker, we have the youth, disabled and pensioners. I have a case of pensioners, namely people who were retrenched from the defunct East African Community (EAC); they worked in the post office, East African Airways (EAA) and they have never been paid since 1977. Some of them have never been paid since 1979. They have never been paid. How can we always be going back to these people when Tanzania and Uganda have paid theirs? The Kenyan ones have never been paid. How unfair can we be to elderly people? Most of them have died. We need to initiate ...

Thank you, hon. Speaker. When contributing to this Motion, I had highlighted the importance of mechanisms put in place to actualize implementation of revenue allocated to the counties. I had indicated that IFMIS is very important; it is responsible sometimes for a low absorption of resources allocated to the counties. Indeed, we have received reports that indicated there is a lot of wastage and low absorption of resources that are given to the counties. That is why implementation becomes very difficult. The issue of wastage is crucial and it is important, as we support this Bill, to underline the importance ...
