  • 17 Nov 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, it will be done. I listened to the Member very keenly. It sounds to me like one of those things that require indepth research. Would it be in order to say that the statement be made in 14 days from today? view
  • 16 Nov 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I am informed that the Minister is not in the country, but hon. Orengo seems to have some information which I do not have. Let him share it with the House. view
  • 3 Nov 2010 in National Assembly: The salary of the CEO is yet to be determined. What I said, and Mr. Koech has put correctly quoted me, is what his current salary is. view
  • 28 Oct 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, this is a point of information. This is not to say that the Assistant Minister is not competent. He has the right answer and we have gone through it. However, the last question had to do with the fact that the Government said that the price of maize is Kshs1,800 per bag and that the farmers were still being paid Kshs1,500 per bag. That is correct. The reason for that is very simple. As you may have learnt from elsewhere, the Government is pressing for Kshs1,800 per bag of maize, and I announced that in Kitale. ... view
  • 27 Oct 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the Assistant Minister has said that they recruited eight people from Igembe North. You will find that other districts, like my district, got five slots. There are other districts which got three slots while others got 20 slots. Why this big variation in the numbers recruited from various districts? view
  • 27 Oct 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, since these projects have been delayed, I want to know from the Minister whether he has released any funds in this quota, and if so, how much, for the Economic Stimulus Pakage; in particular, how much has gone to the fresh produce market, because it is very behind. view
  • 26 Oct 2010 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. I find it very odd for the Ministry to ban grazing in the forest and yet the Forest Act of 2005 allows the communities living around the forests to graze their livestock there as one of the benefits of living around the forest. The law allows them to utilize forest grazing and also pay for it. Why has the Ministry decided to ban grazing in the forest and yet it is allowed? view
  • 19 Oct 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I will get in touch with them today. view
  • 19 Oct 2010 in National Assembly: I will try my best to get them to issue the Statement. view
  • 13 Oct 2010 in National Assembly: Thank you Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. This Ministry has a tendency to start projects, abandon them and then shift priorities. That is because I consider that road to be a shifted priority. When that road was started, it was a priority. Why could you not prioritize it and allocate it funds in the year that followed? I have a similar road in my constituency where work started but it was later abandoned. view
