  • 13 Mar 2019 in National Assembly: The other issue is that of looking for additional funds. Specifically, the national Government pronounced 100 per cent transition from primary to secondary school, but did not take into consideration the fact that facilities will be needed in terms of classrooms. They just said that they wanted 100 per cent transition from primary to secondary school. It is easy to announce those things, but it is quite a different thing to mind about the facilities. A Government cannot just wake up one morning and announce 100 per cent transition without putting money where their mouth is. I do share the ... view
  • 13 Mar 2019 in National Assembly: Finally, the issue of regional balance was put forward, but we deliberated on it in the Committee and thought it had been settled. I do not want to belabor on this and wish we had more numbers. I wish the board required 30 members and not seven. The fact that we have seven members and there is nobody from coast or western does not mean the list is illegitimate. view
  • 13 Mar 2019 in National Assembly: Looking at the national Government, namely, CSs, PSs, ambassadors and others, there is diversity there. Do not look at a seven-member board and expect it to reflect the whole country. I want to urge the Members to support the appointment of these persons to the board. It is our only hope to bringing order in the NG-CDF. We lost this several years ago because Members became reckless or careless and fought the formation of a board. view
  • 13 Mar 2019 in National Assembly: I am glad that many Members have supported the idea that we move with this board regardless of how it comes out. Finally, I wish to ask the House to support the appointment of the persons to the board because it is good and timely. view

  • 14 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I also take this moment to record my support for the Speech by His Excellency the President on 12th September, 2017. I begin by thanking the people of Igembe North for electing me to this august House for the fourth time, especially this time after an interval of 10 years. The other point I would like to highlight is what was contained in that special address, and the tone and content of the President’s Speech. If you check, you will realise that it did not expound a lot of issues about governance for the next one ... view
  • 14 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, the language was very clear. We will have an election which will be conducted by IEBC within 60 days from 1st September 2017. There was no provision in that ruling where the Judges of the Supreme Court assigned the IEBC to arbitrate the grumbling, yawning, dreaming and the screaming by our colleagues in the Opposition. The Supreme Court said we conduct a fresh presidential election supervised by the IEBC. So, if you are having problems in understanding what they said, we need to tell you what it was. This country has a very good institution called the Judiciary ... view
  • 14 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: whole country is moving forward; there are no riots in the streets. I know if it would have been the other way, if the other guys were the ones who had got a bad ruling, there would be chaos and bloodshed. I am sure that is what they were planning and wishing for but they missed. That is what they are wishing to visit upon this country. We will have the election on 17th October 2017. It is not the wish of any of us here but the wish and the voice from the Supreme Court of the Republic of ... view
  • 14 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: The President differed with the ruling. He did not like it but he respected it. Those who were awarded the ruling or the fair judgement according to them do not seem to be ready for elections because that was not the intention. The country needs to be very clear and sound that on 17th October 2017, there will be an election in the Republic of Kenya for the Office of the President. It is not the wish, grumbling, dreaming or wishing away by any demands given by the Opposition. This is not time for demands but for campaign. Go and ... view
