  • 25 Jan 2017 in National Assembly: Currently, and this one I want it to be on record, there is a ranch in Malalani--- view
  • 25 Jan 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. That ranch is infested with many people including people of Somali origin. I have even talked on the ground with the relevant authorities that we need to know who those people are because that is where, in my opinion, some of those cattle rustlers are harboured in my constituency. Unless the Government becomes serious, this thing will be talked about until Christmas. If that is the case, then we need Jubilee Government out of office as soon as possible so that we can have a government which will respect the lives and property of ... view

  • 27 Oct 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. Mine was an intervention. I wanted to register my appreciation to the fact that Justice Philomena Mwilu has got the job. Secondly, I wanted to challenge the Hon. Leader of the Majority Party. When we talk about two tribes, we are referring to appointments from the Executive and not from this House. Thank you. view
  • 25 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for the opportunity. First of all, I want to thank the Joint Select Committee of Parliament for what it managed to achieve. The clarion call from our end was that the IEBC commissioners must go. Indeed, the Committee has recommended that the commissioners leave office. That is very important as far as we are concerned. I want to make a few comments. One is on the electronic transmission of election results. This is the way to go. If we allow electronic transmission to go parallel with manual transmission like it happened last time, it ... view

  • 25 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. The other important thing is to be able to transmit the results straight from the polling stations. I was privileged to observe elections in Liberia when the country was just coming out of the war. It took the entire United Nations (UN) and the ECOWAS group which was negotiating to talk to them to allow transmission of results to be done from the polling stations. The other thing is that political reforms cannot be achieved overnight. I am sure there are recommendations in the Report which Members are worried about. Please, let us allow ... view

  • 4 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker for the opportunity. The concept of the whole thing is okay but I oppose the Select Committee Members. I know there is a Departmental Committee which should be responsible for this. It should hold public hearings because our Constitution is people-centered. I do not think the leadership of the House should be included because they cannot spare two weeks to be away from this House to meet other commitments. view
  • 4 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: It is important for this Select Committee to be reconstituted so that, at least, other people can also be involved and allow the leadership to take full responsibility of championing this House. I wanted to say in the presence of the Leader of the Majority Party that it is important for him to respect other members. I took great exception of how he tried to belittle the leadership of the Opposition. view
