19 Aug 2009 in National Assembly:
Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Assistant Minister has not answered my earlier question on how much money is owed to the small savers. I also want her to tell the House--- She said that the Ministry only interferes when there is a mistake. Is it not a mistake for the cooperative to mismanage itself to the extent where it has to close its doors before paying members? Secondly, the Assistant Minister talked of an earlier bail out, could she confirm to this House that this cooperative had been transformed into Kirinyaga Farmers SACCO in 1997 and tell us under what ...

19 Aug 2009 in National Assembly:
On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. The Assistant Minister should not take the House for a ride. If you sold something, what is that you sold if your 50 per cent holding is intact? Whose shares did you sell and at how much?

19 Aug 2009 in National Assembly:
Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to begin by agreeing that the police are essential to give us security. In the same breath, I would like to condemn the Ministry for failing to institute credible police reforms. This Ministry does not need a task force to change the training of the police from the colonial police to a people-friendly police. Kenya origin giving them a ...

19 Aug 2009 in National Assembly:
Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I notice that under Item 3110300, this Sub-Head is talking about refurbishing of buildings. I am suggesting that this is something that the Prime Ministerâs Office and the Government should rethink in view of the hunger which is causing our people to feed on pigsâ food, and in view of the problems experienced by the Internally Displaced People (IDPs).

19 Aug 2009 in National Assembly:
Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, as we approve this amount, we hope that the Office of the Prime Minister will actually carry out the expected duties, that is, co-ordinating and supervising Government activities. We should not be having runaway corruption when there is an office to co-ordinate and supervise. We should not have violation of human rights. Also, we should not have the general mismanagement that is going on in the Government. We expect the taxpayersâ money to be put to good use.

5 Aug 2009 in National Assembly:
Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Prime Minister will recall that on 16th December, he and the President signed an agreement and committed themselves to Kenyans that they would push their supporters to pass the Tribunal Bill. It is, therefore, a matter of integrity. Is it not contempt of Kenyans on the part of the Prime Minister and the President to abandon the idea of a local tribunal even without an attempt? Could the Prime Minister confirm or deny what Kenyans are saying; that they have been held hostage by members of their Cabinet whom they can fire but are ...
