  • 19 Feb 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving this opportunity to speak. I just arise to support the Bill by hon. Sakaja. When I am supporting this Bill, I just want to ask how those youths are going to access loans and the tenders. There is a problem because our youths do not have money to open bank accounts. Some youths from poor families complete schools and cannot get even Kshs500 to open bank accounts. How are we going to help them? We want them to access these loans and also to access Government tenders, we need to promote them. ... view
  • 20 Nov 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to say something about hon. Mututho but, first of all, I want to thank the various leaders of Nyeri County who are here today to see how we work. Hon. Speaker, I rise to support the Motion, as amended, because of one thing. Where we come from, our children are suffering because of alcoholism. Mr. Mututho has shown this country that he is the one who can do this job. Women and their children are crying that their husbands and fathers are not going home. They are not paying ... view
  • 30 Oct 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. I rise to support this Motion. The reason why I support this Motion is because we know that if a child cannot perform well in primary school, he cannot join secondary school. As other Members have said, this Kshs1020 is not enough because the cost of books and the cost of living is very high. Also, the pupils in primary schools because of the FPE are more. So, more teachers need to be employed by the Government, so that our children can get be taught properly. They should not just be taught how ... view

  • 30 Oct 2013 in National Assembly: poor regions where parents cannot pay anything. We also want them to be at par with children from other regions. There are some pupils who are taught under trees. We want the Government to build classes for them and make sure that every child sits in a classroom, so that during the rainy or sunny seasons, the pupils will be in classrooms. I am happy because the last Government came up with FPE, which is very important. Before the introduction of the FPE, some schools had about 20 pupils, but after the programme was introduced, they increased to 50pupils. I ... view

  • 10 Oct 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I rise to support this Bill on Tax Appeals Tribunal, brought by the Chairperson, of the Committee on Finance, Planning and Trade. I take notice of the fact that the taxpayers are going to be happy and this country will provide confidence to investors. We will show that we are ready to reform our country. For those who have appeals, instead of them going to the court they will face the Tribunal and it will take them a shorter period. If they go to the courts, it will take two The electronic version of ... view
