  • 28 Aug 2014 in National Assembly: when we know there is no food, not enough security, no water, no electricity and other things that we need for a better life? Let us look for another way of solving our problems. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, hon. Members are most welcome to my Othaya Constituency to take tea. We are tea farmers and we will show you what we do. Thank you very much. view
  • 21 Aug 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I rise to support the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) Report. We know that the other continents do not like Africa. If I am allowed to go to Tanzania, I will do business there and our people will get jobs. Therefore, regional integration is very important and I thank the Committee for bringing this Motion to the House. We can discuss this Report and know how best we can enjoy benefits from regional integration. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, when our people go to ask for jobs in many places, they are asked many questions ... view
  • 23 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, I went to my constituency last Saturday to give girls sanitary towels, but so many of them do not know how to put them on. How are they going to use them? When we were in school, we used to be told how to use those things - which I am not going to mention here. We want to know, because we are women in Parliament, whether we could be allowed to go there and teach those girls how to wear those things. We need to think about how they can get the panties. That is because ... view
  • 15 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to support this Motion. We hear of accidents happening near schools. That is because there are no road signs to direct the motorists. On some roads, there is no signage to show that animals are crossing. Motorists are very likely to hit crossing animals and, therefore, get hurt. The people who are given licences to deal in scrap metal must be monitored so that we know the sources of their scrap metal. In many places, there is no water because the dealers in scrap metal steal water pipes. We ... view
  • 2 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you hon. Speaker for giving me this opportunity to support this Report as amended. The reason why I am saying this is because our people are suffering out there. That is because we give our governors money but they are not bothered about our people. If you go to hospitals, especially the Level 4 and Level 5, you will find that there is no medicine. There is also no medicine in the dispensaries that were built using money from CDF. For example, in my place, there is one dispensary where we used to buy things for. We took the ... view
  • 24 Jun 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity to support this Bill. I support it because we know so many parents are suffering. They educate their children outside this country in universities or colleges which are not proper. We need students who are going to college, especially those going to train as pilots to go to proper colleges. This is so that they get proper jobs. You find people who have qualified as pilots being given jobs as hostesses. We want our people to be recognised by other countries. We also want those people who are educated ... view
  • 5 Mar 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. First of all, I would like to thank all the Members of this House for their support. I know that God will bless them. I also thank the people of Othaya because I know that even now, they stand with me. view
  • 5 Mar 2014 in National Assembly: I rise to support this Motion because this country must have laws. Nairobi is the capital city of this country. Anybody who comes to this country as a visitor comes to Nairobi. The major industrial area is also in Nairobi. It is our sons and daughters who have bought the matatu vehicles. There are also other people who go to do their jobs, who can be sacked by their employers because of arriving at their work places late. I want to ask our Governor in Nairobi and in other counties to consider the taxes. When they increase taxes, they must ... view

  • 5 Mar 2014 in National Assembly: s and buses were on all the roads and highways. A patient being brought to Nairobi for treatment from upcountry could die on the way. Even as I speak, I have a case of somebody who collapsed on the way from Nyeri to Kenyatta Hospital. As we speak, he is in a comma. Why should we make our people suffer?
