  • 8 May 2018 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, for giving me this opportunity to contribute to the Motion on the Floor about the Presidential Address on Wednesday, 2nd May, 2018. I applaud our President for coming up with this Speech that touched the lives of Kenyans, including leaders and the communities at the grassroots. The President touched on so many issues that affect Kenyans and the progress that Kenyans and different arms of Government have made. He made some statements on the issue of housing. Uhuru Kenyatta and His Excellency the Rt. hon. Raila Odinga for rising up to the occasion when Kenya really needed them most. This is to demonstrate that, indeed, they are statesmen. I commend Sen. Mutula Kilonzo Jnr. for bringing this Bill to the Floor of the House. It is an important Bill. In fact, this Bill embraces the spirit of togetherness and patriotism. It reminds us, as Kenyans, where our forefathers have brought us from and the good fight they fought to liberate us from the colonialists.
