  • 22 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, I feel that three weeks are too much, since the last recruitment of the police service affected my constituency due to administration and constituency boundaries. Many young women were not recruited. One week should be sufficient. view
  • 4 Mar 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, pursuant to Standing Order No.44(2)(c), I wish to seek a Statement from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Administration and National Security regarding the drought situation in Laikipia North. view
  • 4 Mar 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, the situation in the area is scaring, with about 50,000 people affected by the on-going drought. The communities in that area comprise mainly of pastoralists, who are now moving to the neighbouring Nyeri and Samburu counties in search of pastures, leaving their families behind to face the ravages of the drought. Further, Laikipia North does not benefit at all from the World Food Programme despite the fact that the area does not receive sufficient food supplies from the Department of Special Programmes. view
  • 4 Mar 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, the Chairperson should inquire into and report on the following:- (i) what the Government is doing to resolve the situation, including the timelines for food supplies and other supplies that are needed by the community; and, (ii) plans by the Government to ensure that this problem does not recur in future in that area and in other parts of the country. view

  • 4 Mar 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, the people of Laikipia are suffering. They really need food. Food is a basic necessity for the people. Therefore, the sooner they respond to my request, the better. I will appreciate if they can do so in a week’s time. view
  • 4 Mar 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I believe that in this country, there are emergency food stocks. So, I agree with him if they are going to respond in a week’s time. view
  • 3 Dec 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir, I just support my brother, hon. ole Ntutu’s further amendment. This is because where we find this wildlife, the people who go to school are a bit few. So, if we reduce it to five years, at least, the community that lives in these areas will benefit, bearing in mind that people have developed in these areas. So, I support the hon. Member and the amendment of five years. view
