  • 30 Jul 2019 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. In recognition of these and many other leaders we have lost, it is high time cancer was declared a national disaster. We should in this case provide free treatment and look into the issue of research to ascertain whether it is lifestyle behaviour or the type of food that is causing cancer. Every weekend we are burying people. When we bury ten people on a weekend, seven of them will have died of cancer. Even right now, there are very many people that are suffering from it. I thank God that, after a short while, ... view

I rise pursuant to Standing Order No.48(1), to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on Tourism, Trade and Industry on the measures taken to protect lions which are vulnerable to extinction. • 23 Jul 2019 in Senate: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, museums are very important because of the fact that apart from preserving culture, the most important thing is that they are centres for research and they also form the basis of employment. Nowadays, the major challenge in our country is unemployment. We can create employment through the museums. This will prevent many of the youths from going to the big cities in search of jobs. Museums will create employment to the youths as well as many other business opportunities. Apart from that, museums play a very important role in enhancing cohesion and promoting peace. The coming ... view
