I want to add that Kenya is a regional cancer corridor where it has been found that throat cancer is very prevalent. A research which was conducted in Tenwek Hospital, Bomet County and in Eldoret County established that these areas are leading in cervical cancer. • 22 Feb 2018 in Senate: Thank you, Madam Temporary Speaker. I rise to support this Motion because the ICGLR is a forum that champions peace in the region. That is the reason why currently we are enjoying some fair stability. Secondly, I noted that this forum also plays a role in harmonizing legal statues that in this case bind the member states to uphold peace and avoid conflicts. In addition, it is through this forum that member States seek assistance from bodies such as the United Nations (UN), the African Union (AU) and others that assist in the maintenance of peace. Finally, another crucial issue ... view

  • 21 Feb 2018 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I rise to support this Bill. If amended to factor in all the proposals that a number of my colleagues have talked about, it will be a very good Bill. You realize that we have already devolved over 47 centres that are going to be urban centres and the Governors have to be guided on how to implement this. Light should be shed on the policy in terms of managing, organizing and even planning for those particular cities. In any case, I love it because of the fact that the Bill is giving a ... view
  • 20 Feb 2018 in Senate: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I also rise to support this Bill and say that it is long overdue. There is a lot of arable land in our country, Kenya. However, the major challenge is that we have been relying on rain-fed agriculture. You do realise that with climate change, of late we are having very unpredictable seasons. In this case, if an irrigation Bill was ... view
