  • 7 Aug 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, because of the drought, we need to lead our people from the front. We need to be with them. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, there are matters to do with education. You realise that many--- view
  • 6 Aug 2008 in National Assembly: Thank you, Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker. I wish to support the Bill. I would like to urge the House that, having seen what happened to us early this year, this is probably the most critical thing among the few important things that we need to do in this country. We cannot continue to have a Constitution that confers an imperial presidency or puts power in the hands of one person or a few people. We cannot continue to have a Constitution that allows such inequality that, at some point, it will catch up with us and finish us as a ... view
  • 29 Jul 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to reply. On the first part of the Question by the hon. Member on the criteria that the Ministry uses to classify areas as Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASALS), I would like to say that the Ministry of State for Development of Northern Kenya and other Arid Lands does not do the classification. • 29 Jul 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the content of what I said here--- I did not read the answer. But in my view, it is the same as what I have here. I could read it so that the hon. Members can see that, actually, content-wise, it is not different. view
  • 14 May 2008 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I want to support the Motion and I want to give reasons. I would not ask you to go and feast or do certain businesses in your constituency. That, you will plan it yourself. What I will ask you is to consider that, in any calender of planning, there has to be periods where certain things are appropriate. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I hear that a lot of things have been said about the Constituencies Development Fund (CDF), but also in the Government planning period, this period, we are doing the five-year plan. We ... view
  • 19 Mar 2008 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. My names are Mr. Mohamed Elmi. I represent Wajir East Constituency. First and foremost, I would like to thank my constituents for electing me to this Tenth Parliament. I would also like to thank the many Kenyans who worked for peace at a moment when we thought we were going to lose our country. I do also thank our neighbours, Africa, Europe and the United States of America that came to help us. It is the goodwill of Kenyans that helped us. That is why people have come to our aid when we needed ... view
