  • 12 Mar 2019 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. First and foremost is the Member, in order to mislead the House. He is quoting page 25 and he is reading different figures. Page 25 shows a total expenditure of Kshs1.7 billion for the Financial Year 2016/17. Two, he is casting aspersions on other Members of the Committee for the Report and this is not true. What he is reading is not what we have. Page 25 shows Kshs1.7 billion was spent in 2014/15 and 2016/17, yet he is saying Kshs7 billion. So, which Report is he reading? view
  • 5 Mar 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I support the Report. I must congratulate my colleague, Hon. Maore, and his team for the Report. It is important that we understand that the NG-CDF is an important provision. It has been established through an Act of Parliament. It is an essential Fund. It empowers societies in the rural areas. The Constitution provides that villages should be empowered to receive the national cake wherever they are in the country. For the 290 constituencies, the NG-CDF funds have been provided through an equitable model. In my opinion, it is important that we ... view
  • 20 Feb 2019 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I was following up on Hon. Sankok. This guy is a nomadic pastoralist and definitely green is a very important thing with nomads. Given that he has abided by the Standing Orders, which I do not remember well, so long as he has a collared shirt, a tie and a long sleeved shirt, he makes it up. He adds more flavour to it. Green is a very important thing for the nomadic pastoralist. As the Member of the Pastoralist Parliamentary Group (PPG), I admire his use of green. That is all I wanted to say. view
  • 5 Dec 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I support the Bill because it is very important, timely and contributes to the welfare of our national youth. It will also take care of very important safeguards for the NYS. Youth are the future leaders of our nation. Given they are the future leaders, we must safeguard all their interests. Equipping our youth with the best skills is very important. That is why the precursor of the NYS has begun. That is the reason we are trying to ensure that we have safeguarded all the interests of the NYS. I remember, as my ... view
  • 4 Dec 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I stand to support the adoption of the Report on the Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital project. As a Member of the Committee, I witnessed that this is a very important institution which is of value to our country and society. Therefore, this institution must be supported at all times. It is a great value for money, investment and as an institution. Being a 160-bed capacity modern hospital definitely means that it is an addition to our health institutions so that we can achieve universal healthcare. I will add the word “coverage” in ... view
  • 4 Dec 2018 in National Assembly: This is a precursor for such trainings. Therefore, I support that this institution be given the amount of money that it requires to operate: Kshs600million is little amount of money compared to what is spent on other services. It is value for money that can enhance the training capacity of the institution. The Kshs1.1billion can ensure there is continuity of this institution. • 4 Dec 2018 in National Assembly: This institution will be the precursor for achieving the President’s Big Four Agenda in health. We can achieve the Big Four Agenda in health by expanding our institutions further. This will be a state-of-the art model that can not only be used in Kenya but also across the continent. Very few hospitals in this Continent have such equipment that we have seen in this institution. Given that we have already started, we do not need to turn off the engine of the locomotive of healthcare services that will be provided in this institution. They will ensure that our society has ... view
  • 4 Dec 2018 in National Assembly: A modern health service in Kenya means a sustainable health for our community that can be taken forward, so that we can reach the level of the developed countries that have already been in a situation that we are in currently. When they look back, they will see that Kenya is not in the place that it was 200 years ago. We want to be fast enough, so that our society can get the best health services. I ask this House to support this institution in budget and many other ways. view
