  • 6 Jun 2006 in National Assembly: asked the Minister of State for Administration and National Security:- (a) what was the amount of salary increase for chiefs and their assistants as promised by the Minister in 2005; and, (b) when the said increments will be effected. view
  • 6 Jun 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, you can see that my Question has not been overtaken by events. view
  • 6 Jun 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, my concern is that the roadside promises made to every other--- Chiefs and Assistant Chiefs play an important role in our country. During the time prior to the referendum, they were promised an increment in their salaries. The Minister did not say that he would make a comprehensive salary review and send it to the DPM for study and advise. Why was it necessary to promise the chiefs and the Assistant Chiefs an increment in their salaries before the Minister consulted with the DPM so that we could know the amount and when they would be paid? view
  • 6 Jun 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I want to express my surprise that the Ministry is denouncing the DPM. I believe that the recommendations were from the Ministry. Could the Assistant Minister tell us in specific terms, how much they recommended as the salary increase? It is under him! view
  • 31 May 2006 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. The hon. Member who asked the Question made some very serious allegations. He said that some documents were destroyed. He seems to have some information which is not within the domain of the rest of us. Could he substantiate and give us those names which he is talking about? view
  • 31 May 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir, I second. May 31, 2006 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES 1103 view
  • 31 May 2006 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir. I always agree with my Chairman on many things, but on this one, I do not agree with him. view
  • 31 May 2006 in National Assembly: I do not agree with him and I support the amendment by hon. Muturi because rape is 1106 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES May 31, 2006 something that is known. There are no two ways about it. You cannot say: "I think I was raped". So, there would be no issue about somebody going and making an allegation which she thinks is true but is not. So, in my opinion, hon. Muturi's amendment is very good and is going to stop anybody from making those allegations that can put people in jail. I support the amendment. view
