  • 11 Nov 2021 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, my issue is that I asked a Question on 21st September this year relating to land and it was directed to the Cabinet Secretary for Lands and Physical Planning. I have never been called by the said Cabinet Secretary or the Committee at any time or received any response. I was told that I would get a response within three weeks. I am concerned that nobody bothered to look at my Question. A third of my colleagues who asked Questions three weeks ago are getting responses. My concern is why my Question is not being answered. The ... view
  • 11 Nov 2021 in National Assembly: I want to be present on the material day when the Cabinet Secretary will come because I was not aware that she was coming today. view
  • 11 Nov 2021 in National Assembly: The problem is that the Chair has not confirmed if my Question will be responded to on that day or not. That is why I request that I be summoned. view
  • 11 Nov 2021 in National Assembly: I am most obliged, Hon. Deputy Speaker. view
  • 13 Oct 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I hereby stand to support Sessional Paper No.1 of 2021 that pertains to water as a natural resource for our people. We have been experiencing a very serious and worthy cause to be paid attention to, taking into account that there has been adequate water in this country especially in the Mount Kenya region. However, recently, we have experienced water shortages. As we speak, we are waiting for this season's rain as our rivers have dried up and what we remain with are dry waterbeds. What used to be rivers are now dry valleys. ... view
  • 13 Oct 2021 in National Assembly: do their work. They just watch from a distance. Theirs is just to come and demand money if there is an ongoing activity like building or cultivation along the river. This is not the right thing. Can we have policies that are going to regulate growing of these eucalyptus trees, and how we are going to use our rivers, to save the next generation? If it remains as it is, we will be remembered that at one particular time, we stood here just to chat in Parliament as the country went to the dogs. That is all, Hon. Temporary Deputy ... view
  • 21 Sep 2021 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I stand to support the Petition by my colleague, Hon. Mule. We had looked at that Petition. It raises serious issues as pertains to what has been happening from the time the fuel prices were raised. Look at the countries around us as it has been suggested earlier by my colleagues. When we were in Uganda the other day, we found that a litre of petrol was Ksh70, and that fuel passes through Kenya. One wonders why it becomes very expensive now when it comes to Kenya and we are the ones who are supplying Uganda. It is ... view
  • 21 Sep 2021 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I rise to ask the Cabinet Secretary for Lands the following Question: - (i) When will the disputed boundary between Tharaka Nithi and Meru Counties, along Central Imenti and Tharaka Constituencies, be demarcated as recommended by the Interim Independent Boundaries review Commission – known as the Andrew Ligale- led Commission – in its Report dated 27th November 2010 as well as contained in the Zachary Ogongo-led Task Force Report? (ii) Could the Cabinet Secretary undertake to cause the marking of the boundary points between Imenti Central and Tharaka Constituencies as recommended by the Ogongo- led Task Force Report? ... view
  • 6 Jul 2021 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I stand here to support this Report. The Report looks good because it considers areas which have been said to be marginalised. When you read Article 204 of the Constitution, we talk of 14 counties but as it is today it talks of 34 counties. Covering 14 counties means Meru and Tharaka Nithi are included. However, when it comes to Meru, in the regions which I mentioned, you will be surprised that those are the most remote areas with marginalised people. Tharaka is one of them which is mentioned there. In my constituency, Central Imenti, which ... view
