  • 23 Apr 2019 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, from where I sit, my assessment tells me that we do not have sufficient quorum to continue with the business of the House. I do not know whether it is in order for us to proceed. view
  • 2 Apr 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity to air my voice on this Bill. This is a very important Bill. All of us come from different counties and we see what is happening in this country. This Bill will regulate quite a number of things that are going wrong in most counties. This Bill will ensure that many cosmetic projects in the counties come to an end. I agree with the Hon. Members who have said that there is a lot of duplication of resources. We supervise the Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) monies. At times, ... view
  • 2 Apr 2019 in National Assembly: struggling to do something that is completely contrary that people are not even aware of. They talk about public participation that is never done. This is a very important Bill originating from the Senate. We want to believe that the counties will take the right direction from this moment. There is unnecessary competition in most counties. Once you do not have the statistics of the real needs of your people, you are likely to do what your friend is doing. You will find that most governors are constructing sports academies that nobody goes to. Some people are dying at their ... view
  • 2 Apr 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I have spent time listening to some of the memoranda that were submitted before the Committee. Something notable here is about the towers. This House must take note of this because we have made very clear recommendations over the same. We realise that all the towers that belonged to Telkom, which happens to be a Government parastatal, were sold to an American company. Talking of security issues, it is worth noting that they just surrendered themselves to a super power. So, they can easily get access to a lot of our information. From the ... view
  • 2 Apr 2019 in National Assembly: With those few remarks, I highly support the Report. view
  • 13 Mar 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. Since I have a minute to say something on this Motion, I wish to appreciate my colleague for bringing it. The nation is sick and the observations we have made from the people who are suffering from diabetes is pathetic. You have just heard that this disease causes kidney failure and heart diseases. Since we are investing a lot of money in it, early screening can save a lot. We also need to note that most of these patients at home are given drugs by doctors and instructed to inject themselves. The same drugs ... view
  • 6 Mar 2019 in National Assembly: Bumula, Independent): Thank you, Hon. Speaker. Having looked at the list of the proposed nominees, I am satisfied that they are qualified Kenyans who can take up these roles. Looking at the list, unless I do not understand what the phrase ‘regional balancing’ means, the slots have been shared out between into regions. We have regional commissioners representing the national Government. If we were to go with that, one region could not be missing out. If you look at it, there is nobody from the region that spans all the way from Kakuma up to Busia. So, when we talk ... view
