Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. Thank you, our very able Chairman of the Departmental Committee on Transport, Public Works and Housing for putting our team together; we have worked together. Looking forward, our commitment is to get the best for this nation. We had the privilege to interview Mr. Charles Hinga. One of the things that struck us most is his experience in dealing with State organs relating to financing of housing in the Republic of South Africa (RSA). He fits very well in what we are looking for because housing is a big pillar in the Four-Point Agenda ...

Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, is it in order for the Member to insinuate that Kenya is Murang’a and Kiambu, and not any other place? It is a very irrelevant statement. It is not in good faith. This Bill was brought in good faith to try and bring harmony in this country. I ask the Member to withdraw that statement.

Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I join my colleagues in urging Members to approve this Policy. It is an obligation for every citizen in this country to cooperate with the State organs when it comes to protection and conservation of the environment. We should not go into the history books as the generation that caused our country to become a desert leaving nothing to our descendants. I totally agree that this is one sector of our responsibility that we need to finance effectively. I urge the Members to consider contributing Kshs5 every month. I am sure that by the end of ...

Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I rise to support the approval of the list of Cabinet Secretary nominees. Let me congratulate the President and his deputy for finding it nice to honour the promises they made, which is to give us the best Cabinet that will deliver their mission in the next five years. I take this opportunity, through you, to thank the President, specifically for appointing Prof. Margaret Kobia who happens to come from my constituency.

Prof. Margaret Kobia has been very consistent in her work as a civil servant. She has been a role model to the girl-child, particularly at the place she comes from called Kerwa, where she has also participated a lot in community development. She has specifically dug a borehole for the community with the little income she gets as a civil servant. She has been very consistent in guiding and becoming a counsellor to our young girls who aspire to be like her. Being an advisor to the United Nations (UN) on public administration is not a simple thing. We need ...

Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, the Member has said that they have nothing to do with the approval of the names as presented in the list. Up to that point, it is my understanding that you should tell him to sit down because he has seized this opportunity to issue a statement yet that is not what we are debating. It is not in order to allow the Member to continue insulting others saying that this is not serious business and calling it a circus. We are not in the business of a circus and corridors in this Parliament.
