Mr. Speaker, Sir, I have just been given the statement and it appears to be brief. I do not know the position of Sen. Mositet. However, since facts and figures do not lie and there is a schedule, I am not sure whether Sen. Mositet will not be in good state to allow me to read before he could interrogate it in future.

Mr. Speaker, Sir, the former CBK Governor, Dr. Andrew Mulei, was suspended and later fired from the CBK for procuring very expensive software equipment that was primarily supposed to detect bank fraud, following the lessons that were learnt from Charter House Bank. I would like to know from the Chairman what happened to the software that was procured by the former CBK Governor, Dr. Mulei, causing his dismissal in terms of bank supervision. Under the CBK Act, the Bank Supervision Department of the CBK can visit a bank without notice. How many times did the CBK visit or conduct supervision ...

Thank you Mr. Speaker, Sir. Although I have heard the Statement by the Chair, what I am wondering is that the process of a Report like the one tabled by the Chair of that Committee, Sen. Musila, as far as the proceedings of that Report are concerned, the matter has rested. Therefore, unless you commit that Report to the County Public Accounts and Investments Committee, I am still wondering how the Senator is going to respond in four weeks.

.: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I will try my level best to answer the questions. Sen. (Dr.) Machage has asked why new kits are being purchased while the rest are still there. I actually never said that they were going to be purchased. The statement was clear that in the planning process, they were going to redistribute the voter registration kits. That is what they have said. They have not included purchasing other kits. They have also stated that, in fact, this is the process that they intend to undertake in order to audit the status of Information Communication Technology (ICT) ...

Mr. Speaker, Sir, I gave that undertaking. However, I have also mentioned that one of the challenges that the IEBC has and they have mentioned here is that they have been starved of cash. You are aware that in the budget policy statement we recommended that the IEBC should be granted Kshs5 billion they had requested. The amount they were given this financial year is just close to Kshs1.3 billion. That information is already available. On the question of why the National Assembly Budget and Appropriations Committee thinks that it is not necessary to give them the funding that they ...
