Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I also rise to pass my personal condolences and those of my constituents in Samburu West to the family of the late Governor of Nyeri and the residents of Nyeri County. I would also want to wish a quick recovery to those he was travelling with and I pray that they will be healed and go back to their normal lives. I pass my condolences to this family because we have seen on social media that his son is sitting for the KCSE exams this year at Alliance High School. We do pray that God will ...

Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I rise to contribute to this very important Motion and thank my colleague, Hon. Peris, for tabling it in this House. Some things leave us without knowing what to say, where to start and where to end. This is not the first time such a thing is happening in this country. Many other similar incidences have happened, like the one just before the elections. Kenyans were so engrossed in the campaign for the repeat presidential election that they did not realise that it happened. That is why this case is really shocking. Some of ...

national issue. Frist, I pass my condolences to the families of those who have been affected. This is quite a sad affair. For 10 lives to be lost just like that, it is something which should not be acceptable in our country. These are people who did not die because of any health issue or any calamity, but someone took the lives of others. They are probably parents and were being looked upon by their families. It is quite a sad affair and it should not be tolerated in this country. There are two or three things that continue to ...

Thank you, Madam Temporary Speaker. From the onset, I rise to support this Motion because I was a member of this Committee. Under the leadership of the Hon. Speaker, Ekwe Ethuro, we were able to sift through recommendations on the amendments of the Standing Orders from individual Members and various committees of this House. It is our mandate to review the Standing Orders of this House. It is a fact that for the last five years, we have learnt a lot of things that will make easier the work of those who will come after us in the Senate. It ...

Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, even when you were reading the Petition, we shared with my colleagues here that probably the petitioners need to go to court and that is what you and others here have also said. However, it is important that this petition comes to the Senate and even goes to that Committee because it is a reflection not just of Machakos County but something that is happening in all our counties on issues to do with procurement, delayed payment of contractors. It is very unfortunate when it involves women and youth, when we say we have allocated 30 ...

Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, with regard to the LAPSSET and its route, I am aware the Samburu leadership gave their suggestions of how the route could be changed for the benefit of the people. However, our views were disregarded. I want to know whose views were included in designing the route of this mega project. They could be views of consultants only. They did not take into consideration the views of local communities and their leadership. If they did, they would not have changed that route. The second issue is about the LAPSSET opening up these areas as Sen. (Prof.) ...
