  • 29 Oct 2015 in National Assembly: THAT, pursuant to the provisions of Standing Order No. 28, this House adjourns until Tuesday, 10th November 2015 in accordance with the Calendar of the National Assembly (Regular Sessions). view
  • 29 Oct 2015 in National Assembly: We determine the calendar of the National Assembly. These dates have been gazetted. We are supposed to be going for a short recess for around 10 days, so that we can come back on 10th November 2015. After we have been here for a while, it is time to take this recess and head to our constituencies, so that we go and deal with the matters at the grassroots in a continuous way. It is not that Members of Parliament do not usually go to their constituencies. We go to our constituencies every weekend. This is an opportunity for us ... view
  • 29 Oct 2015 in National Assembly: This has been a time when we came back and started a new financial year. Many issues have come up. As we move on, the Executive and the Judiciary which are the arms of Government are trying to do their bit. We have also tried to do our bit in the Legislature, but the other bit that we ought to do is in our constituencies. I will not take much time. This is just to remind Members the importance of representing people; in representation, the other duty is now calling. view
  • 29 Oct 2015 in National Assembly: With those few remarks, I beg to move. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I would ask Hon. (Dr.) Pukose to second this Motion. view
  • 28 Oct 2015 in National Assembly: seconded. view
  • 28 Oct 2015 in National Assembly: Asante sana, Mhe. Spika.
Rais ataamua. Mhe. Spika, ninaomba wenzangu wote tuunge mkono Hoja hii ya kumuruhusu Meja Mstaafu Shadrack Muiu--- view
  • 22 Oct 2015 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady, I need some clarification. I can see in this Senate Amendment that they are talking about “amongst the governors”. In other words they are proposing that an elected member sits on a board. I do not think that is within our constitutional requirement. That goes against the Constitution. Once you are elected, you are not supposed to hold any other State office. Naturally, even to be elected, you should first resign from any other State appointment before you take over an elective post. view
  • 22 Oct 2015 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady, whereas we agree that they must have a representative, it should not be from amongst the governors. Honestly, you resign to be elected and so how do you go back to a board? That is an unconstitutional. view
