  • 18 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I rise to second my Chairman on the Finance Bill whose Report was tabled yesterday. I request Members to go through the Report. When we did the First Reading of the Bill, we actually advertised it in the newspapers and asked stakeholders to bring amendments. We have received quite a number of them and we hope by next week we shall have gone through them and decided on which ones to choose in consultation with Treasury. We had a deadline.   • 18 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: increase that to anybody who will be earning Kshs15,360. He or she will be exempted from Pay as You Earn (PAYE). Last year, we had a contentious issue of motor vehicles, as my Chair has said, and we are pleased that this time round, the Treasury has deemed it fit to revert to our position as a Departmental Committee on Finance, Planning and Trade.
