  • 30 Aug 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, that is all right with me! view
  • 30 Aug 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir, I just want to add my voice to what Mr. Kajwang is saying, that the Committee has done very good work on behalf of the House. If the Order Paper does not capture what the Committee has done on behalf of the House, for a fault that does not belong to the Committee nor the House, I would beg that the Chair applies Standing Order No.1 and this debate be adjourned because the House is ambushed. view
  • 23 Aug 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I rise to seek a Ministerial Statement from the Minister for Finance regarding the Privatisation Act, No.2 of 2005. That piece of legislation was passed on 10th August, 2005, and assented to by His Excellency the President on 13th October, 2005. It was supposed to commence on notice. But right now, we are seeing State Corporations being privatised. Safaricom, Telkom Kenya, among other parastatals, are on the line to be privatised. Other firms have been sold to private owners in the past. Mr. Speaker, Sir, I want to know from the Minister why that beautiful legislation has ... view
  • 22 Aug 2007 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Health:- (a) whether she is aware that Rongo District missed out when ambulances were being given to every district hospital in December, 2006; and, (b) when she will give an ambulance to Rongo Sub-District Hospital. view
  • 22 Aug 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, that appears to be a good answer, but it is misleading. The Assistant Minister who is responding is my neighbour. When was that 4 X 4 vehicle delivered and to whom? What is the registration number of that vehicle? That is because there is no such thing! view
  • 22 Aug 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the Assistant Minister comes from the neighbourhood. He has even visited Rongo. Is he in order to say that a 4 X 4 Double-Cabin vehicle was delivered to Rongo Sub-District Hospital in June this year, when I and everybody else knows that there was no such vehicle. Is he in order to mislead this House? view
  • 22 Aug 2007 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. The Assistant Minister, in the answer to part (b) of the Question, has indicated that he will procure an ambulance for Rongo this financial year. When is the exact date or month when that ambulance would be available? view
  • 22 Aug 2007 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, for giving me an opportunity to contribute to this very important Motion. I want to, straight-away, congratulate the Mover of this Motion for the conception of this Motion. This Motion touches on the very being of humanity. Governments must respond and attach importance to the very being of humanity. Human beings must, in their very nature, provide for the needy members of the society. Any individuals who form part of a Government who do not have consideration deep in their hearts for weak and vulnerable members of society, do not actually deserve the ... view
  • 22 Aug 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I was talking about my visit to Pand Pier, in the company of Mr. Gor Sungu, who is the Member of Parliament for Kisumu Town East Constituency! This is a true story. We visited that part of Kisumu Town East Constituency with Mr. Gor Sungu. We really saw children in need. Those children did not know where their next meal or clothing would come from. Their welfare and well-being is left to the magnanimity of well wishers. I believe that the welfare of children in this country--- Children are also enjoined to follow the law ... view
