It talks about sharing information and more specifically sharing information about the levels of water at any particular time. It states that when the authorities need to find out how much water is available, then that information should be made available immediately. To use a better example that is closer home, we have rivers in our country that traverse a number of counties. Do we have laws that govern the usage of the waters from those rivers so that one county or constituency does not use the water for irrigation at the expense of another county or constituency? One person said that you would not realise the value of water until you miss a drop. Since you do not want to miss a drop, we need to realise that now and ensure that this treaty is ratified, adopted and every measure possible taken to ensure that our water is protected. I believe that for this nation to develop and make sure that there is full participation of all Kenyans, we must make sure that we include gender in terms of our consideration of every sector of our economy. • 6 Jun 2017 in National Assembly: Programme. I looked at the numbers of the students or pupils who were in this school and I was surprised. Majority of the kids who are in school are female. I also saw that many of the Kazi Kwa Vijana participants were also female. They were more than the men. I would like us to know that a time will come when, we, the men who have been reluctant to push this Bill will be marginalised. • 6 Jun 2017 in National Assembly: It is my wish that we should not leave this matter hanging forever. It should be finalised. I pray that we, men, must also remember that tables can be turned, and we could be crying in future. We will wish that this Bill was passed to safeguard men’s interests. It is important that as we move forward, all of us look for the right mechanism and propose the right ways to ensure that the gender rule is successful in this country. view
