  • 25 Jan 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I did not realise that Jakayo Midiwo was finishing. I want to thank you for allowing this debate to take place. There has been a syndrome that is encroaching in this House where Members are in a hurry. They want to go home every time. Everything we bring here is “put the Question.” This is a time to be very careful just in case we leave out Members who want to contribute. I want to thank you for that wisdom to allow debate to take place. I stand today as a Member of Parliament of the ... view
  • 25 Jan 2017 in National Assembly: effective person. I am sure he has done a very good job in training Sialai. Even before I support this appointment, I want to note that Mr. Bundi is retiring but if you look at him, he is a very energetic person. He is a sportsman who has served this country with a lot of dedication. I am bringing the attention of this House that the wealth of experience that Mr. Bundi has will go into waste if he just came home to my village to plant bananas. So, I am hoping that within the premises of this Parliament and ... view
  • 17 Jan 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I hope my minutes have not been taken away by your explanation. I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to contribute. From the outset, I want to support the appointment of Archbishop (Rtd.) Dr. Eliud Wabukala Wamukekhe for this very challenging job. Indeed, it is a job that Kenyans require to be done really well. It is because corruption is an evil that it has really and badly dented the image of Kenya, not just locally but also internationally. It is a cancer that has defied all medicines, including witch doctors. People have ... view

  • 17 Jan 2017 in National Assembly: has to be mostly wisdom and integrity and being able to engage in a way that will not give the offenders any opportunity to be able to compromise the forces that will be fighting corruption. The character of Archbishop Eliud Wabukala definitely is beyond reproach. We know that there are religious leaders in this country who have been bundled out of their positions of heading churches because of mismanagement and poor leadership. Like very few leaders in the church, Eliud Wabukala finished his term at the ACK and retired honourably. Therefore, he has headed a very big institution. I want ... view

  • 29 Nov 2016 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, it is about Petitions. This is a very pertinent and serious issue, in my opinion. This House and its Committees, according to Article 125 (2) of the Constitution, enjoy the same powers as those of the High Court. Hon. Speaker, I want to bring to your attention the fact that I brought a Petition in this House on 9th August 2014 on the removal of the appointed liquidator of Chuka Farmers Co- operative Society Limited. The Petition was taken very seriously by the members of the Departmental Committee on Agriculture, Livestock and Co-operatives. They did a very thorough ... view
