  • 24 Oct 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker. Even as hon. Kang’ata really is agitated about the youth and Murang’a County, I want to seek your guidance on the duration you have given; that we have to have these names nominated today or never. I want to seek your guidance whether it is possible to amend this list. Do we have to either support or reject it as it is? I seek your guidance. view
  • 24 Oct 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, Sir, I rise to support this Motion as amended. It is unfortunate that the bicameral Parliament of Kenya wants to have their cake and eat it. We are going to have the PAP opening and forming committees without the participation of the able Members of the Kenyan Parliament. As it is, and reading from the mood of the House, I wish to support this Motion as amended so that these capable Members, who now have a good balance, because we have the old guards like hon. Shebesh and the new blood, can represent Kenya It is unfortunate because ... view
  • 17 Oct 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, pursuant to Standing Order No.44(2) (c) I wish to seek a Statement from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Transport, Public Works and Housing regarding delayed tarmacking of roads by the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) and the Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KERRA). This problem has been specifically and especially felt in Chuka Town in Tharaka Nithi County which is a town that has been in existence for the last 100 years, but has not benefited from this upgrading of roads. This is in spite of the town being in the neighbourhood of other towns of ... view
  • 17 Oct 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker because this matter is very urgent and the rains are about – Chuka Town becomes a cowshed when it rains – we will appreciate if we got the answer in the shortest time possible. view
  • 17 Oct 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, I have indicated that there is a tendency for this thing to recur. This is because tenders are awarded, money allocated and after a few days, the money disappears. We know that Intex Company Ltd has been awarded the tender and yet at the moment there is no money allocated for this particular road. We want to know what will happen to this case. I think three weeks is a long time. view
  • 16 Oct 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker. While I appreciate your ruling on the matter of the offices, I note with appreciation that you mentioned that 133 hon. Members have not been allocated offices. I would like to bring to your attention that almost three quarters of hon. Members who were allocated offices at Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) have not occupied their offices; especially the offices that are occupied by the former Ministry of the Nairobi Metropolitan; which I believe is under the County of Nairobi. If there is something that you can do about it; in your record, it shows we ... view
  • 26 Sep 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I stand to support this Motion that we need extension of time. I want to commend my sister, hon. Kajuju because of the hard work she has put in this matter. You need to realize that even the Members who are opposing consent to the fact that this is a very important Motion. This is not how you treat important things which are supposed to be given due consideration. Hon. Anami said that this is so important that it should be dealt with now. If you look at the way miraa was banned by the UK, ... view
  • 18 Sep 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, we have had enormous contributions from the House and I can see that Members are still interested in contributing; I want to donate only four minutes. I will give two minutes to hon. M’eruaki and two minutes to hon. Waiganjo. Then I will respond. I will be left with six minutes unless I have more than that; if I have then I can donate more time. I will donate one minute to the Member for Kilome. view
  • 18 Sep 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I wish to seek your intervention to know how many minutes are remaining for me to reply.
