  • 31 May 2022 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker, for your intervention. I thought this was a ranking Member and if there is nothing out of order, I wonder why he was interrupting. I wanted to appreciate the Committee chaired by you, Hon. Speaker. Apart from this Report, I still remember that this is the Committee that has also seen the translation of the Standing Orders from English to Kiswahili. I think this is a commendable job and it shows good progress and good concern for what is happening in this House, which actually affects the entire nation. I know the Report has taken a ... view
  • 5 Jan 2022 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman, I oppose that amendment. Thank you. view
  • 14 Oct 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I rise to appeal to the goodwill and the conscience of Members. Given the magnitude of interest on this and the demand that is out there for our people, it appears that majority of us are actually repeating ourselves. I think it is important to appeal to Members to reduce the time of talking so that as many Members as possible can contribute and then we dispense with this matter. I know you cannot do it from your Chair, but I want to request Members to exercise their goodwill. view

  • 14 Oct 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I thank the Members for agreeing to speak for two minutes. To sum this up, we agree that there is a problem in our country concerning petroleum. The important thing is for my Committee to remove the demurrage charges and all the other charges, and zero-rate petroleum. view
  • 29 Sep 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker, for this opportunity. As a Member of the Departmental Committee on Education and Research, I wish the Petitioner well. I just want to reiterate that we will give this Petition a fair hearing and due diligence. Why? In our education system, we teach children that we are a democratic republic. So, it is important that when they are doing anything, especially electing their leaders, then we should encourage them to do it in the most democratic way. We know it is at universities that our children develop critical thinking, the ability to present themselves and issues, ... view

  • 22 Sep 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity. The whole issue of this repeal could not have been put better than the way the last speakers, Dr. Nyikal and Hon. Otiende Amollo, have done it. view
  • 22 Sep 2021 in National Assembly: I oppose the repeal more so with nothing replacing it immediately. The only thing I will add to everything that Hon. Otiende and Hon. Nyikal said is that I am a Member operating with a fund which is managed through regulations. All County Woman Representatives will agree with me that we have had enough problems in the management of the National Government Affirmative Action Fund. Therefore, when we talk about some regulations which are not elaborate enough and will still be under the National Treasury and Planning and that is all we are banking on, this is not going to ... view
