  • 11 Oct 2018 in Senate: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Chairman of the Committee on Roads and Transportation, I want to convey my very sincere condolences to the families that were affected yesterday morning by that accident. I want to confirm to this House that last week we had a meeting where we had invited all the stakeholders; that is, the NTSA, Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) and the Inspector-General of police. We were probing the causes of an accident where 10 young children lost their lives on Garissa Road. In the course of that discussion, we were told that accidents were due to human ... view

  • 25 Jul 2018 in Senate: Kindly protect me from the Senate Majority Leader. He wants to put words in my mouth. Sometime back, when retired President Daniel Arap Moi was visiting Limuru Town in my county, there was a lot of agitation for him to name a Vice President. He had deliberately chosen to keep tight and quiet. However, when the agitation became too much for him, he spoke in Kiswahili language and this is what he told them. “ Ikiwanitampatia kazi kama naibu wa Rais hiyo itaongeza ugali kwa meza, basi nitampatia .” What one would be asking himself is whether if the money ... view
  • 5 Jul 2018 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. As I congratulate the Senator who requested for this Statement, I want to lament the casualness with which deaths of Kenyans is taken, especially under circumstances of arson like this one.
