  • 2 Oct 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir, I beg to move:- THAT, Clause 2 be amended in the proposed new subsection (2) by deleting the words “this Act” immediately after the words “upon commencement of” and substituting therefor the words “the National Cohesion and Integration Act, 2008”. Mr. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir, the purpose of this amendment is to reflect the Act that is intended to be amended, which is the old Act – The National Cohesion and Integration Act – so that the amendment take place on the old Act, and not on the Act arising from the National Cohesion and ... view

Abdikadir, what amendment does he propose to carry this? Should he not move an amendment to give effect to that provision allowing regulations generally and not specifically to sub-section 2? This is also with regard to Dr. Nuh’s issue? view
  • 26 Sep 2012 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. My business on the Order Paper was Order No.11. This was a very short amendment to only one section of the National Cohesion and Integration Act, with a view to extend the mandate of the current National Cohesion and Integration Commission, which has expired and there is a big gap. So, I was requesting if you can allow me to move this amendment. view

  • 26 Sep 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I beg to move that the National Cohesion and Integration (Amendment) Bill, Bill No.40 of 2012, be now read a second time.
