  • 9 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, we are also bound to remember how the current President took over power on a wheel chair – the only known President in the whole world who took over power on a wheelchair. He has raised to greater heights the economic and social development of our country. This new law is very specific on the instruments of power. It has been a mystery. Not many people know what are really handed over. But, for the first time, the youth of this country will know the real instruments of power that are to be handed over ... view
  • 9 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. Therefore, this law is very important because it has created very important events that Kenyans will witness and, particularly, the swearing-in of the new President. It will be a historic day and a holiday in this country where the entire population will be able to witness that very important day. view
  • 9 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, under Article 16, there are provisions where it is mandatory that the new President will give an inauguration speech. It is important to recall that by then the whole country will be polarized because of political parties that will be competing for this very high office. Therefore, it will be important for the writers of the Presidential speech to make sure that inspiration and unity of this country are maintained. What is the Ministry doing to make sure that power lines standing in the middle of roads are removed to avoid unnecessary loss of lives of Kenyans? view
  • 8 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, while thanking the Minister for doing security roads in many parts of this country, could he assure this House that quality work is done on these roads? view
  • 8 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. The Assistant Minister has informed the House that the African Safari Club has been selling certain properties to meet those very urgent needs of the club. Could he institute a caveat on the remaining properties so that the unpaid workers will get their dues from funds realized from the sale of these properties? view
  • 8 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, for the chance to make my contribution to this very important law. As stated by the Minister, this will be the stimulus for economic growth for Vision 2030. It will facilitate creation of jobs for our youth in this country. It will also enable industrialization of our country, particularly in the 47 County Governments that will be created by the new Constitution by 2030. It, therefore, calls for the impediments and bottlenecks that have continued to frustrate investments in this country to be addressed through this law. view
  • 8 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, the cost of electricity in this country to private investors has been the cause of a major cry. The cost of water has also been a problem. Land acquisition for the investors has also been a problem. Security challenges have also been a problem. Infrastructure in this country has been a problem to investors. We know acquisition of business licenses in this country has been a nightmare. In Rwanda, for example, private investors acquire licenses within the shortest time possible. With this law, that impediment will be addressed. view
  • 8 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I have already concluded by fully supporting the Bill. view
