  • 15 Mar 2012 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Madam Temporary Speaker. In my view this is a very critical Motion that requires very heavy consultations and argument, because it is going to affect the lives of Kenyans. However, Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, I am concerned about the quorum in this House. view

  • 15 Mar 2012 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker. Is the hon. Member in order to keep referring to the Chair as Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker? view
  • 15 Mar 2012 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, let me start by supporting this Motion very strongly. Now that the Acting Minister for Finance is here, I would urge him to rein in on the production of fake currency in the country. Why have you allowed foreigners to invade this country and continue to manufacture currency? These printers must be arrested. Action must be taken because this is an economic crime. It is sabotage of our monetary strength. What is happening to the Monetary Fraud Unit of the Central bank of Kenya(CBK)? Action must be taken against that. On the 14-seater matatus, I would ... view
  • 14 Mar 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, let me start by thanking the Prime Minister for the Statement that he has issued. Secondly, I would like to request the Prime Minister to inform the House what measures the Government is taking to make sure that MRC does not threaten the peaceful co-existence of different communities in that region; we are aware that the same group has raised many unresolved issues. view
  • 14 Mar 2012 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I will also be very brief on this. Let me start by thanking the Committee for doing a very commendable job. I also want to thank Kenyans who came forward to seek this job. I extend the same appreciation to the nominating organizations that presented candidates for this very important assignment. Boniface Lokaale is a very qualified and experienced candidate. I note that he has worked in various capacities in the country. He has the necessary qualifications and leadership skills which are vital in the running of the CDF. I note that a qualified ... view
  • 14 Mar 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, thank you for the opportunity to contribute very briefly on this very important Motion. Let me start by thanking the Mover of this Motion, Hon. Hassan of Kamukunji for finding time to file this Motion. I am wondering what is really happening to our security organs in this country. When I reflect in my memory, M15 of Britain is able to tell when a terrorist attack is likely to be felt at Heathrow Airport. Mossad of Israel is able to tell when an incident is likely to happen. KGB of Russia is able to tell ... view
  • 14 Mar 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, it is also important to recognize the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) administration that came to the assistance of the affected victims. Notable is Dr. Simon Monda who led a high powered doctors’ team to address the crisis affecting those victims. We note that there are some other critically injured Kenyans who are admitted in hospital. We also, in addition, ask the Minister to make sure that the bills incurred will be met by the Government. It is high time that security organs in this country woke up to the reality. That is because within the ... view
