• 18 Aug 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, as I said, the Athiani Bailey Bridge was erected in 2008 after it was prioritized by the relevant Constituency Roads Committee (CRC). It was meant to connect Kibwezi Constituency and Kitui South Constituency. Three years down the line, this bridge has not been commissioned for use by motor vehicles. I would like to know from the Assistant Minister the outstanding works and their costs, so that this road can be commissioned for use by motor vehicles. view
• 18 Aug 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I want to thank the Assistant Minister for the last undertaking, given the fact that this bill bridge was started when they had not started the new programme. What I would like him to confirm is that; in view of the fact that constituencies are getting very little money and we cannot complete these roads, could he, for example, find money to complete this bridge so that it is not only used by pedestrians, but also by motor vehicles? view

• 10 Aug 2011 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Lands:- (a) whether he is aware that members of Land Dispute Tribunals in Wote, Kathonzweni, Nguu, Matiliku, and Mbitini Divisions in Makueni Constituency have not been gazetted since 2008 and thus no sitting allowances have been paid to the members of the said tribunals, (b) whether he could also table a list of members for each tribunal indicating the amount owed to each individual member to date; and, (c) when the Ministry will pay them their accrued allowances. view
• 10 Aug 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, you have heard the Assistant Minister confirm that these District Land Tribunals have not been gazetted since 2008. These tribunals perform very important quasi -judicial duties in administration of land disputes. However, he has not constituted them for that long period. Could he state the reasons why he has not constituted them? Is he satisfied that there is no role for them to perform in land administration board, Makueni Constituency, and the larger Makueni County? view

Why is this officer sleeping on his job while members are waiting to be gazetted? Could he give us a timeline when these tribunals will be constituted and gazetted for them to perform their duties? view
