  • 4 Nov 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I did not hear you! Would I be in order to ask the last question? view
  • 4 Nov 2008 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I would like to request that I ask my last burning question! view
  • 4 Nov 2008 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. Among the answers that have been given by the Assistant Minister, he said that the microfinance institutions are the ones that are training the people who access that money. Could the Assistant Minister tell us what programmes are going on under those microfinance institutions? He should let hon. Members have access to those programmes so that they can transmit that information to their constituents. view
  • 4 Nov 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I have realised that the Assistant Minister is not serious about this Question. However, for the benefit of all women in Kenya, I would like to repeat it. Could the Assistant Minister instruct the microfinance institutions - I will simplify for you - to ensure that those training programmes are brought to the knowledge of Members of Parliament, so that we can transmit the information to those people who are supposed to be beneficiaries? view
  • 4 Nov 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I am interested in the issue of compensation. On my table, lies very many requests for me to follow up on the issue of compensation to those who have over-head power cables passing through their properties. As a matter of policy, does the Ministry have a time limit within which they compensate those who have given up their land for such activities? view
  • 30 Oct 2008 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Development:- (a) whether she could confirm that most deserving women have not accessed funds under the "Women Enterprise Development Fund" since its inception; (b) how much of the money has been disbursed to women groups and individuals in Limuru Constituency; and, (c) whether she could explain the steps she is taking to ensure that women who require entrepreneurial skills are trained before accessing the money and indicate when such will start. view
  • 30 Oct 2008 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. Despite the fact that, that could have been a defence, is it in order for the Assistant Minister to defend himself using another wrong. Two wrongs do not make a right. view
  • 8 Oct 2008 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports:- (a) whether she could state the number of youth groups and individuals who have received funds from the Youth Enterprise Development Fund (YEDP) through the Limuru Constituency Youth Enterprise Scheme since its launch, indicating the amount received by each; and, (b) what measures she will take to ensure that existing businesses as well as needy youths without bank accounts, access these funds. view
  • 8 Oct 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I would like to thank the Minister for a fair answer. Could she tell the House whether she is aware that the financial intermediaries she is referring to are actually diverting the youth from accessing the funds at small interest rates and showing them that their money is much more accessible at a higher interest rate of 10 percent? view
  • 8 Oct 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, in view of the fact that the Minister has said that she is not aware of what I am alluding to, would I be in order to ask that the Question be deferred to a later date? view
