  • 28 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, listening to the answer from the Assistant Minister, the truth of the matter is that even where there is land, there is still a problem. A case in point is my place, where the courts are operating from a makeshift structure. view
  • 28 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Am I in order to ask the Assistant Minister to put it categorically? This is because he is always referring this matter to the CDF money. Has money been set aside in the Ministry to provide the essential facilities? That is the question I asked. Am I in order to request that he answers it? view
  • 28 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I have looked at the answer. Under the paragraph on disciplinary action against project staff, with regard to 14 of them, it was to separate them from the project. I do not understand what kind of discipline was that. I do not know whether the staff were removed from the project or other measures were taken. That is the only item she has said that they were separated from the project. What does that mean? view
  • 28 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I rise on a point of order to seek a Ministerial Statement from the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance with regard to the fund for financial inclusion of the informal sector. view
  • 28 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, in his Statement the Minister should clarify the following:- view
  • 28 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: 1. State who are eligible for the fund and the criteria used in determining the beneficiaries of the same. view
  • 27 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, sometime back the Prime Minister indicated and gave guidance on the pricing of maize flour at Kshs52. As I check today’s presentation, he has put food subsidy programme under the long term measures. The current issue is food on the table for the poor and vulnerable like he has rightly put it. What immediate short-term programme does he have to subsidize wheat and maize flour? Secondly--- view
  • 27 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Likewise, the Prime Minister completely avoided answering my question. With the indulgence of the Chair, I can repeat it because it was very critical. It went like this, in simple terms: The food subsidy programme has been put under the long-term measure, but currently, the crisis is food on the table for the poor and vulnerable. What is the short-term measure to provide subsidy especially on wheat or maize flour, so that our people can have food on the table immediately? view
  • 14 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, mine relates to the country-wide problem with regard to that kind of conflict. You are addressing the issue of Kiambere Dam, probably because a Question has been brought here. You have said that you will dispatch a team to look for solutions which are available for that particular area. What plans are there to view
  • 13 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, indeed, the Question refers to the reduction of HIV/AIDS infections. It does not refer to preventive measures just like the Member has said. This is not in regard to infant circumcision. What measures has the Ministry taken to ensure that members of the public are aware of this method as one of the very many ways of reducing HIV/AIDS infections? Has the Ministry put measures in place to create public awareness, this being one of the measures that are critical in reducing HIV/AIDS infections? view
