Pursuant to Standing Order No.44(2)(c), I wish to request for a Statement from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Labour and Social Welfare regarding the implementation and effectiveness of the Cash Transfer Programme to older persons in the counties in general and Ganze Constituency in particular. The implementation of the cash transfer programme is not effective as envisaged when the programme was initially conceived. Majority of the older persons in Ganze Constituency have not been receiving the money from the programme despite the vulnerability to poverty among other challenges associated with old age. ... view

Pursuant to Standing Order No. 44(2)(c), I wish to seek a Statement from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Labour and Social Welfare regarding the dependants of people living with disability. Most of the persons living with disability have healthy children and others with special needs. These children require basic needs like food, shelter, clothing and health care.
