  • 20 Mar 2019 in Senate: This Bill will also give independence to MCAs and it will enable them focus on oversight instead of trying to play the executive role. They will focus on their legislative and oversight role. The Bill also allows the county assembly to decide on the criteria to be used in allocating funds to the wards just the same way the Senate questions the allocation of resources to counties that is presented by the Commission on Revenue Allocation. The Report on the Isiolo Petition concerning the agreement between Living Goods Limited and the County Government of Isiolo was tabled and debate was pushed to today. That is where we are. Otherwise, the Report is here, the copies are there. Members can pick and familiarise themselves. One was on gender and the title was Parliamentary Agenda for Combating Human Trafficking and Modern Day Slavery in Africa and the Promotion of Human Rights. It was placed under gender because modern slavery that is experienced in Africa is on human trafficking of women and girls who are taken to work in the domestic sector.
