  • 9 Nov 2011 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, I would like the Assistant Minister to explain. As we wait to get allocation from the Treasury, what preparations has he put in place to ensure that ECD classes are established in all areas, particularly in the ASAL areas where illiteracy levels are still high? view

  • 9 Nov 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. Can the Mover be called upon to reply? view
  • 8 Nov 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker. Is the Assistant Minister in order to mislead the House that they have extended assistance to the family of the deceased? Could he table documentary evidence to prove that they have actually given assistance to this family? view
  • 2 Nov 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. The enrolment and transition rate of the girl-child is very low. It is not only confined to the two counties. This is a problem that is affecting the entire ASAL areas. Now that the Chair has referred this Question to the relevant Departmental Committee, I wish that they will cover the entire northern Kenya, so as to be able to solve the problem. view
  • 2 Nov 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I would like the Assistant Minister to note that the information that he has given here is not correct. He is referring to some parts of Isiolo North as being in Samburu East. The information here is inaccurate. This Authority covers a very big area. This is specifically an area that has a scarcity of water. Is an allocation of Kshs1.8 billion really sufficient for this Authority to meet its objective of providing these communities with water? view
  • 1 Nov 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, so that the entire country benefits from that civic education, what plans has he put in place to ensure that the rural folk, who may not have access to information on TV or newspapers, benefit from it? view
  • 1 Nov 2011 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. Given that the Government had committed itself to waive school fees for students in districts that were hit by drought, and that the information was communicated to the House by none other than the Right hon. Prime Minister, why did the Government have to wait until students were chased away from schools, given the fact that there is no way that boarding schools could maintain students unless school fees was paid? Why did the Government take that long? Could he also assure us that the money will be paid immediately? He cannot tell us ... view
  • 1 Nov 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I do not think we should be treated to these kind of stories. Now that the Government had committed itself and considering that students are suffering, they should know what they will do with the students until the money is given out. Is it possible that this statement is redirected to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance so that he can tell us whether they have money or not? view
