  • 12 Oct 2011 in National Assembly: The second one is that the amount allocated to Samburu County was Kshs900,000. That was given to the entire County, which has three districts. Therefore, view
  • 7 Sep 2011 in National Assembly: Thank you Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. I also thank the Mover for donating that minute to me. I support the Motion and say that time should be extended to enable the Committee to accomplish its task and give its final report. I would have expected to get some update or, at least, a progress report made by the Committee and the Government, so that we can know the number of IDPs to be resettled, the categories of displaced persons, those who have been resettled and those who are yet to be resettled. However, more fundamentally – I will go ... view
  • 30 Aug 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to ask the Minister for Education the following Question by Private Notice. (a) What was the cause of the fire that burnt down the dining hall and kitchen at Uaso Boys Secondary School and what was the cost of damage? (b) What measures will the Minister take to ensure the facility is reconstructed? view
  • 30 Aug 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I want to thank the Assistant Minister for the answer. However, I am concerned about part (b) of the answer. Now that the cost of damage is known and the entire House knows that Samburu East District is one of the districts that have been badly affected by the severe drought that we have gone through--- Instead of saying that the local community or the BOG raise the Kshs3.6 million, why can not the Government shoulder the whole responsibility and reconstruct this facility because this is a poor community? view
  • 30 Aug 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, now that schools are about to re-open and these students take their meals outside in a dusty environment, how soon will the Assistant Minister take up the matter when the BOG makes its request? view
  • 30 Aug 2011 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, I want to use this one minute wisely. I will start by thanking the Minister for the changes that he has made at the Kenyatta National Hospital. He has acknowledged that this being the main referral hospital in the country, the services and the management had been run down. I commend the new Chief Executive and hope that the Ministry is going to support him to ensure that the hospital gets the required facilities to offer the necessary services to Kenyans. Secondly, I would like the Minister to hear us out here. Those of us who ... view
  • 17 Aug 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I have heard the Assistant Minister say that this is a new Board which has inherited debts from the old Board. Why could the Government not waive the debts to enable the new Board start on a new slate, instead of disposing of the Board’s assets at the risk of interfering with the Board’s operations? view
  • 11 Aug 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. Is it in order for the Assistant Minister to refer to Morans as “thugs” when Morans are a dignified group of young men in the Maasai Community? view
  • 11 Aug 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Ministry of Education has structures up to and including educational zones. Why could the Ministry not use the education officials in the zones to identify invigilators and pay them without causing unnecessary delay? view
  • 20 Jul 2011 in National Assembly: asked the Minister of State for Provincial Administration and Internal Security:- (a) under what circumstances Police Constable Stephen Lesiokono (P/No.59882/90006208), who was based at the General Service Unit (GSU), was dismissed from service on 31st October, 1997 and yet he had permission from his seniors to be off duty; view
