  • 29 Apr 2025 in National Assembly: Yes, Hon. Speaker. I commit to informing the Chairperson so the response can be brought during the second week after opening. Thank you, Hon. Speaker. view
  • 29 Apr 2025 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Speaker, I beg to report that the Committee of the whole House has considered the Social Protection Bill, (National Assembly Bill No.12 of 2025), and approved the same with amendments. view
  • 2 Apr 2025 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Deputy Speaker. Before I comment on this Petition by Hon. Ken Chonga, I would like to thank you for giving me a chance to welcome the students seated in the Gallery. I urge them to work hard in school. This is the place where we make laws. We handle policies and make decisions on what will happen to the country. You can only get here when you work extremely hard in school and ensure that you are disciplined. view
  • 2 Apr 2025 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, I would like support this Petition by Hon. Ken Chonga. It is extremely important. It concerns a community that seems to have lived there for an extremely long time of 100 years. I hope Hon. Mbai will take up this Petition quickly, so that he can interact with the National Lands Commission and the Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development to ensure that these people get justice. He seems to have done his research well and even identified the people who own the title. The Committee should handle this matter very quickly. view
  • 2 Apr 2025 in National Assembly: Land matters are extremely serious. About 50 per cent of my Athi Ward is a ranch. We got to know this in the last Parliament because the Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development wanted to adjudicate the land. We realised that they could not adjudicate the land because it belonged to a ranching company, yet that land had over 15 schools and other social amenities for Athi Ward. The Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Lands, Hon. Nyamoko, is doing a very good job. He has a lot of work to do for this country. view
  • 2 Apr 2025 in National Assembly: The President has also pronounced himself, especially on land matters at the Coast. People cannot remove a whole community from a piece of land alleging that they own it, including the so-called absentee landlords. Thank you very much, Hon. Deputy Speaker, for giving me an opportunity. I support this Petition by Hon. Ken Chonga. view
  • 13 Mar 2025 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker for giving me this opportunity. I would like to welcome all the students that have come to visit Parliament today. I would like to specifically welcome students from Muthale Girls. I went to Muthale Girls High School many years ago and I still have memories of the encouragement that we were given by our teachers and our principal then, Mrs Mbuko. This is a school that made me who I am. I would like to encourage the girls, together with girls from other schools that they can be what they want to be as long they ... view
  • 13 Mar 2025 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Chairlady. As I support the increment, I would like to say that we have teachers who are above 40 years. We all know that in public service, once someone reaches 45 years, they can no longer be employed. During the oversight of this Budget, the Departmental Committee on Education should ensure that teachers who are above 40 years in our constituencies are hired before they reach 45 years, making them unemployable by the public service. Thank you. view
  • 13 Mar 2025 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Chairlady, I support this amendment. Senators need to rise to the occasion and oversee the projects that are being implemented in the counties. There is so much rot. There is so much failure to implement projects that have been financed. So, it is time for them to go and oversee. view
  • 13 Mar 2025 in National Assembly: I would also like to say that the Senate needs to be kind to the National Assembly. They keep saying 'no' to everything from the National Assembly. But today, we are saying 'yes'; let The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly.
