As I speak, I have 300 schools in my constituency. I know Hon. Chepkonga does not have the same number. There are constituencies in this country that have 10 schools yet we are given the same amount of money. Our constituents are being misused by mobile companies. I would like to give you an example of three locations in my constituency called Mutha, Kasaala and Kanziko. Those three locations can have no network for a week. When someone purchases bundles that expire in seven days, it is important that mobile companies tell us where they take those bundles. Vincent Musyoka Kawaya concerning pollution of Athi River. When Athi River is polluted, it pollutes the three Ukambani counties in the lower eastern: Kitui, Machakos and Makueni. I would like to ask the Committee as they look at it to be bold enough and ask the institutions that test the water to identify which impurities are in that water and call out on those companies so that this matter is brought to rest. It was raised in the 12th Parliament but nothing much was done. Hon. Speaker, it is important that before these companies are given permission to operate upstream, health impact assessments are done first so that they can tell their impacts on people living downstream. ... view
